
Dukes Bites Big, Wins Infringement Suit against 7-Eleven
This article examines the recent 2026 judgment by the Hon’ble High Court of Madras in 7-Eleven International LLC v. The Deputy Registrar of Trade Marks & Ors., centred on the disputed ‘BIG BITE' mark. Emphasising the territoriality principle, the Court clarified that trans-border reputation alone is insufficient to secure trademark rights in India without demonstrating actual business presence or goodwill within the country.
